Don’t cross the line..

1Corinthians 10:12-13

“12So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don’t fall! 13No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.”

I heard a gentleman explain his personal approach to temptation last week.  He admitted that sin is enticing and that he is tempted all the time. He said, “I recognize the line and try not to cross it.”

Imagine that there is a line that if crossed represents “I have crossed the line and I have sinned.  The temptation was too much…….I messed up.”

Now, can you recognize the temptations in your life and ”draw the line.”

None of us are perfect.  We will sin, that’s a natural thing. However, we can limit the amount of sin in our lives by recognizing that we are close to the line!!

So what’s your sin?   Lust?  Overeating? Greed? Fowl Language? Alcoholism? Gossip? Hate? Pornography?

The next time you see something that tempts you to approach your line, recoginize it, pray for God to help you and ask for forgiveness.  

Change your environment by changing the channel, putting down the fork, cleaning up your language, learning to love instead of hate, etc….

If you are getting close to the line or have stepped over the line, recognize it and take it to God.  

God is faithful, he will provide when life is on the line.
