“I like it….”

John 8:30-36

“30Even as he spoke, many put their faith in him.

 31To the Jews who had believed him, Jesus said, “If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. 32Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

 33They answered him, “We are Abraham’s descendants^[a] and have never been slaves of anyone. How can you say that we shall be set free?”

 34Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

It is for freedom and joy that Jesus endured the cross and set us free.

Here is a quote that I read today…

“The same thing can happen as you learn the truth that will set you free: Jesus wants to use your prayers to bless and heal people.  You don’t have to be special — just an ordinary christian, aware of your own weakness, or what you consider your own lack of faith.

Jesus wants to heal through you….He will if you just give him he chance.”

Can you imagine allowing Father God to use us to help set our family, our friends and the lost FREE from sin and sickness?

I watched movie with the girls today and here is a another quote that reminded me of how I feel when sharing the love and freedom of Christ with others. 

 

“You know what scares me the most?”

 

“Is that when it happens, when it comes over me and I totally lose control……I like it..”

Mark 10:46-52

“46Then they came to Jericho. As Jesus and his disciples, together with a large crowd, were leaving the city, a blind man, Bartimaeus (that is, the Son of Timaeus), was sitting by the roadside begging. 47When he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

 48Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”

 49Jesus stopped and said, “Call him.” So they called to the blind man, “Cheer up! On your feet! He’s calling you.” 50Throwing his cloak aside, he jumped to his feet and came to Jesus.

 51“What do you want me to do for you?” Jesus asked him.
      The blind man said, “Rabbi, I want to see.”

 52“Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.”

Jesus healed this man….he was blind and then received sight!!!

This experience has many lessons.  Sometimes we desperately need a touch from the master and unfortunately sometimes we may be the ones rebuking those that need help…either intentionally or unintentionally.

Thankfully, Jesus does not see throught fleshly eyes.  He sees us for who we are.  He understands our hurts and our feelings.  Sometimes we are rebuked, sometimes we feel all alone and sometimes we feel the warmth of the master as he wraps his arms around us, gives us rest and heals us.

“That is the way the healing ministry of Jesus works–yesterday, today and forever: He sees people before the father.  He manifests outwardly what He sees in the spirit.  That is glorious!”   MacNutt 

If the noise of this world loud and there are those that appear to be hindering and rebuking, follow the experience of blind Bartimaeus………”Know that Father God has a divine appointment waiting for you, call out to Jesus….if needed, shout all the more!!!!!”

Prayer

Father God..

Thank you for this day.  The sun and the breeze energized us today. Your beauty is on display in bright spring colors.

Father, forgive my mistakes today, my missed opportunity to witness, forgive my unbelief, have mercy on this sinner.

Father as I listen to music about your overflow and healing “raining down,” I pray for just that .  I pray for a heavenly anointing of overflow and healing. 

Bless our church, prepare us to minister and to be ministered to in the morning.  May your spirit set people free from their emotional bondage and their stuff.   Let them know that you care about them, not their baggage.

Father, thank you for my family.  Bless them as they sleep.  May your love give them rest, comfort them and minister to them in their dreams.

My heart is full of praise, thank you for freedom to worship and call out to you in the great times, the good times and the times of indifference and pain.

May your Holy Spirit fill our worship center and meet us as we join our hearts for praise and worship.

Father, give us rest, heal our hurts and bless us….May your healing rain on us….

May we have the faith…..

Mark 2

 1A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. 2So many gathered that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them. 3Some men came, bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them. 4Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus and, after digging through it, lowered the mat the paralyzed man was lying on. 5When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven.”

 6Now some teachers of the law were sitting there, thinking to themselves, 7“Why does this fellow talk like that? He’s blaspheming! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

 8Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts, and he said to them, “Why are you thinking these things? 9Which is easier: to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up, take your mat and walk’? 10But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins . . . .” He said to the paralytic, 11“I tell you, get up, take your mat and go home.” 12He got up, took his mat and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God, saying, “We have never seen anything like this!”

May we have the faith to go the extra step to get to the feet of Jesus. 

Jesus invested a lot of his ministry healing people.  As I read scriptures, healing was an ordinary part of his day.  Scripture also tells us that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.

Let us pray for those that are sick and need healing.  Let us pray for those who are hurting and need love. 

Let us ask for forgiveness of our sins, forgiveness of our unbelief and healing for our hurts….
