Prayer

June 11, 2008

I’ve been reading about intercessory prayer and I thought I would share some quotes from the book.

“So the first step in intercessory prayer is to quiet ourselves before God and with His guidance to choose our path, fearing not to follow it wherever it may lead. “

“The second step is to contact the power that heals and fill ourselves full of it.  Love is the healer.  The One who loved us and gave Himself for us is the One who heals.”

“In order to fill ourselves with His whole being, let us think of Him, imagining His presence, seeing Him with the heart.  Let us beseech Him to come and dwell within us.  Let us ask Him to enter into our spirits and fill us with His own consciousness of the fatherhood of God; to enter into our minds and think within us His own thoughts; to enter into our hearts and feel through us His own love, directing it to those who need it most; to enter into our bodies and build them up according to the patter of His perfect holiness, making us more and more fit channels for the inflow and outflow of His life.”

“Above all if we really want to love Him and feel His love for us, let us kneel before the cross, dare to contemplate His sufferings thereon and thank Him for His inestimable gift to us.  Let us thank Him for the great gift of his own life.  Let us dwell upon Him and immerse ourselves in Him until the reality of His being fills us and floods us with power.  As we do this, our healings become free and easy and spontaneous, for we know that we are doing nothing at all.  The great friend of man is doing His own works through us.”

This is alot to comprehend…but check out this final quote about how Father God uses us….

“As Thomas Kelly says, “First He takes the world out of our hearts, so that we can give our hearts to Him.  Then he puts the world back into our hearts, so that we can give Him to the world.’”

Have a great rest of the week and God Bless!!!

“HEALING RAIN”

April 30, 2008

I recently heard this song from Michael W Smith.  The title is “Healing Rain.”

Healing can occur in many ways.  Jesus can heal our hearts and minds.   He can heal us by forgiving our sins, releasing us from our past, healing our physical sickness and freeing us from things that bind us.  Jesus is the Great Physician.

The words to this song are powerful.  Please take a few minutes and watch this video.  May God Bless you as you worship and pray!!

A Call to Guard….

October 31, 2007

Father God has divine plans for our lives. We are made for a purpose and HIS plan is perfect.

Romans 8:28 confirms that God is in control.

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

We can trust by FAITH his purpose and plans.

We need to GUARD our thoughts from Satan.  He can not take our souls from Christ.  Satan cannot separate us from Christ.

Romans 8:38-39 “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Satan is powerless unless WE give him power by our own free will.

Listen to this quote:

“Every imagery that God uses incites my hunger to live in a different dimension.  There is something profound about the relationship between the waters dividing only when the soles of their feet touch the surface.  I see the same relationship in Romans 16:20 where Paul told us that “the God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.”  I have no problem believeing that God will crush Satan.  What blows my mind is that it’s not under God’s feet that Satan will be crushed; it’s under my feet—our feet.  I can understand Satan being crushed under the feet of God.  We are told that heaven is God’s throne and the earth is His footstool.  Those are big feet!!!

Yet the question comes to mind: “If the soles of our feet have this kind of cosmic power, what untapped potential has God placed in the rest of us?”

Satan only has authority over us when we give it to him.   We need to guard our minds, guard our thoughts and guard our lives from influences that allow us to hand over authority to Satan.

Many cried out to God in their deparation and times of trials.  David cried out, Job cried out, Jeremiah criet out to God and even Jesus, on the cross, cried out to Father God.

Jabez cried out a powerful prayer and the Bible says  “and God granted his request.”

1 Chronicles 4:10 “Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request.

We need to cry out to God to bless us, enlarge and expand our thoughts and our minds.  We need to cry out for HIS hand to guide and comfort us.   We need to cry out for HIS protection.

Let go and Let God!

This is a call to Guard our minds, our thoughts and our hearts from the plots and schemes of the evil one.

Read God’s word daily.  Let’s saturate our minds, our hearts and our souls with His divine instructions!!!!!!!
